Former CCC Release Records

California Correctional Center in Susanville is important because older records, older news, and public memory may still point to it as a Lassen County prison. For a 2026 released-inmate search, however, the first fact is deactivation: CDCR states CCC was deactivated on June 30, 2023. That means the facility should not be described as a current release source. It remains relevant for historical CDCR custody, parole, discharge, transfer, and court commitment research.

A person formerly housed at CCC was a state prisoner, not a Lassen County jail detainee. The release record belongs to CDCR and related court or parole systems. If the person was discharged before deactivation, paroled from a CCC assignment, transferred from CCC before final release, resentenced, or moved to another CDCR facility, the direct confirmation path is CDCR/CIRIS where available, CDCR public records, DAPO parole material, BPH records for hearing-eligible sentences, and the sentencing court. 1. Search CDCR CIRIS at ciris.mt.cdcr.ca.gov by CDCR number if known, or by name with age and other narrowing details.
2. Look for current CDCR location, commitment county, admission data, and any BPH material shown in the public record.
3. If the record points to another current CDCR facility, follow the current facility and CDCR case-record path rather than treating CCC as active.
4. If the record appears historical, request CDCR public records for release, discharge, parole, facility assignment, and sentencing-action information that is public and disclosable.
5. Check DAPO if the person left prison on state parole or if parole discharge is the issue.
6. Check BPH hearing results, schedules, eligibility labels, or public records if the person had a hearing-eligible sentence.
7. Use the sentencing court for the commitment, abstract, amended judgment, resentencing, or dismissal/relief history that may explain the CDCR record.

If the person later had a Lassen County booking after leaving state custody, that later jail event is separate. Search the Lassen County Adult Detention Facility page and court portal for that local event, but do not merge it with the old CCC prison record.

CCC Records and Contact

The current record path is CDCR-wide. CDCR's contact material directs public users to CIRIS and lists the Identification Unit for help. BPH and DAPO may be relevant when the former CCC case involved parole suitability, parole release, parole supervision, or parole discharge. The Lassen County Sheriff's Office does not certify a former CCC release unless there was a separate local booking.
